Hyphen PDA’s New Head of Operations
Hyphen PDA is a well known NCR registered Payment Distribution Agency(PDA). Each month they work along with debt counselling firms to help distribute many, many millions of Rand on behalf of consumers across the country who are under debt review.
The current Head of Operations of Hyphen PDA, Mr Malcolm Povey is going to be retiring at the end of February this year after working with Hyphen PDA since all the way back in April 2010. Both he and Mr Chris van der Straaten (shown in the photo from the Debt Review Awards 2017) were career bankers at Absa Bank before beginning at Hyphen PDA. Mr Van Straaten says that, since Malcolm held various operational roles over the years at Absa, “his training, experience and insight were invaluable to the PDA over the last few years”.
New Head of Operations
Mz Kanyisa Mabongo will be officially taking up the role of the Head of Operations on 1 March 2018 (she has already been informally acting in this role as acting head since October last year). Kanyisa joined Hyphen PDA in October 2011 and has headed up the PDA Finance Team with distinction for many years. She is very familiar with the demands of her new role. She has recently passed her BCompt Accounting examinations and will be graduating in the next month or two.
Prior to Kanyisa joining Hyphen PDA, she worked for Accenture for a period of 3 years, before embarking on what Mr Povey describes as her sudden “steep learning curve” with Hyphen PDA in 2011.
‘Don’t worry, you won’t be totally without Malcolm’s company for a while yet’
The Road Ahead
The transition has thus far gone very smoothly and we wish Malcolm all the best for the future (good health and good fortune). It has been a pleasure to work with and interact with him over the years. Don’t worry, you won’t be totally without Malcolm’s company for a while yet, as he will be contracting to Hyphen PDA for a few months in order to fill some temporary gaps.
Debtfree want to wish Kanyisa every success in her new role at Hyphen PDA.
