FNB Banking App Now To Use QR Codes
The use of QR codes is not a new thing. Many people have grown used to using Snapscan and Zapper to pay for meals, parking and more. The use of QR codes has also been integrated into some of the most used apps in the world such as WeChat and Pokemon Go.
FNB are now integrating QR codes into their banking app. This will make it possible for users to make payments on QR codes directly from the App. It will also allow retailers to generate QR codes for consumers to scan and pay. Businesses can set that up by accessing the “speedpoint” option under Payments. These businesses can then print and display the QR code or have clients scan their screen to get the code.
Users can now add a “Scan to Pay” widget to their home screen on their phone and can access the feature quickly but it can also be accessed from in the App as well if you want to go the long way around every time.
‘this is going to help reduce the need for clients to carry lots of cash around’
The bank is happy that this is going to help reduce the need for clients to carry lots of cash around and hope that it will help close the gap with their competition and other QR users.
