Discovery Begin Taking on New Clients in July

Discovery Bank was officially launched last year but at first, decided to limit the number of clients they would take on to only 1000. This allowed them to test their products and slowly ramp up their marketing to potential clients over time. Smart and cautious.

Admittedly, they ended up taking a bit more time to get going fully than anyone expected due to some behind the scenes stuff. Discovery Group CEO Adrian Gore says that this time period was “vital” and that their new banking system is complex with “over 120 distinct and connected systems”.

They say they are now going from having only 1000 clients on the entire system to taking on 1000 new clients every single day. One of the key changes ahead will be migrating all those clients who have FNB Discovery cards onto the Banks own platform.

Its All About The Discovery Miles

Central to the appeal of banking with Discovery direct will be how they provide bonus and allow clients to earn the almighty Discovery Miles. People who use Discovery for other services are already hooked on earning points (Miles) and will no doubt be enticed by earning bonuses in various ways through the bank itself.
