The Debt Counsellors Association of South Africa held their annual general meeting on November 27th, 2024.
DCASA’s AGM was held online this year with around 40 members logging in to attend.
The AGM moved along swiftly with a quorum established and previous minutes etc sorted straight away.
President's Report
The President’s report by Mr Reinhard Pettenberger of Debt Therapy focused in on:
(1) progress at the NCR’s CIF (especially with regard to the Task Team 2.0 and the efforts of Mr Casper le Grange of DCGsa),
(2) concerns over the various “get out of debt review” scams and campaigns – The NCR are taking action in regard to this,
(3) the new DC members mentorship programme (with help from Nadia De Weerdt),
(4) the successful annual DCASA conference which was brilliantly organised by Vanessa Johst,
(5) efforts to push up the association’s website SEO score (for topics where the public need to be educated like ‘get out of debt review’).
Rheiny also thanked the NEC members and Vanessa for all their hard work.
Money
There was then an association financial report and sign off on the auditors.
The financial details are for members only but it was impressive to see how almost all funds received were spent on the various programs and efforts of the association to benefit members and consumers under debt review.
The AGM closed soon after without any voting this year for any of the NEC roles.
