Credit Provider debt review services company Consumer Friend have sent out a notice in regard to sms’ that consumers may be getting in regard to one of their credit provider clients.
Scary Messages
Recently a bundle of scary sms’ went out to Foschini clients under debt review and have freaked out consumers who were lead to believe that their payments may not have been received.
The matter came to the fore when consumers began contacting their Debt Counsellors in a panic concerned that something was wrong. The Debt Counsellors immediately contacted Consumer Friend to try resolve the matter. Debt Counsellors assist consumers on an ongoing basis as part of their “after care” services.
Bit of a Mix Up
Justin van der Linde of Consumer Friend says :” These SMS’s have been sent in error and can be ignored by the consumers currently under debt review.” Consumer Friend have even emailed all the Debt Counsellors they have on their system to notify them of the error.
Debt Counsellors may want to keep this in mind should their clients call. Consumers who received these messages should probably still contact their Debt Counsellors but don’t need to panic.
