In a recent series of articles MoneyWeb has delved into the relationship between Coombe & Associates now known as Flemix and Bridge finance (one of their well known brands is SA Multi Loans) as well as tracking company ONELAW. Debt Counsellors led the way in complaining about garnishee orders through Coombe & Associates. After all the bad press Coombe & Associates even tried a name change and rebrand however it seems that the continued bad press and investigations have driven it’s clients to seek other collection agents in an effort to separate themselves from disaster.
Some of the highlights are:
A whistleblower has come forward to provide a worrying account of a national lending system deeply infected by the abused garnishee system… implicates the network of companies …been labelled as unethical and legally questionable.
… investigations previously implicated Flemix in alleged abuse of the garnishee system…Those investigations implicated the firm in what was viewed as the institutionalised abuse of borrowers through garnishee orders.
…Flemix admits that it has lost clients, including Bridge,
…In effect, Cambist had generated income for OneLaw, Flemix and Bridge.
