MrBeast has officially entered the world of financial services.
If you do not know who Mr Beast is, his real name is Jimmy Donaldson, but on Youtube, where he has the world’s biggest suscriber base he is known as MrBeast.
Jimmy’s company (Beast Industries) has acquired the youth focused money app Step
Step
Step is an all-in-one money app designed for teens and young adults.
It helps users manage money, build credit and even start investing.
Step was founded in 2018 by fintech veterans CJ MacDonald and Alexey Kalinichenko and is backed by major players, including Stripe and several venture capital firms.
While Step is not a bank itself, it provides many practical tools that young people would normally only get later in life.
The platform has more than 7 million users and operates in partnership with Evolve Bank & Trust. It also offers a Step Visa Card and accounts for saving, spending and sending money, all with no monthly fees.
The amount paid for the deal has not been disclosed but the move signals a shift beyond media and snacks into fintech, with a strong focus on younger users.
‘MrBeast says … nobody taught him about investing or building credit when he was growing up’
MrBeast says his motivation is personal.
He has openly shared that nobody taught him about investing or building credit when he was growing up. By joining forces with Step, he says he wants to give young people the financial foundation he never had.
The acquisition now seriously takes Beast Industries beyond just YouTube. It is becoming a force to be reckoned with. The company already runs Feastables, Beast Philanthropy (for charity stuff) and the crazy Beast Games.
With over 450 million subscribers across his platforms, MrBeast has a massive audience. By combining that reach with financial tools aimed at young people, this deal could shape how the next generation learns about money.
