Workshop About Transfers

The National Credit Regulator (NCR) is hosting three workshops about their new guideline on transfering clients between Debt Counsellors.

DCs Invited

The NCR has updated their view on how transfers between Debt Counsellors should be handled.

As is often the case, the NCR are now holding a linked series of workshops to go over the guideline so that their stance is clear (and no one can later say they did not know).

Such training gives invaluable insights into the NCR’s reasoning on the matter and they hope that all Debt Counsellors will adopt their guideline as best practice.

The workshops also present opportunities for Debt Counsellors to ask questions about niche cases where they may have concerns.

Pick One

To cater for registrants’ availability, three online workshops, via Teams, will be given on the following dates and times:

Session 1: 24 June 2026 at 10h00

Session 2: 24 June 2026 at 15h00

Session 3: 25 June 2026 at 12h30

Debt Counsellors (and their senior staff) do not need to attend all 3 workshops since the same material will be covered in each session. So they can simply pick one.

In the past, the NCR has been quite insistent that registrants follow their guidelines (or technically, non binding opinions on industry topics and procedures), so it is wise for Debt Counsellors to attend so they have a clear understanding of the NCR’s policies about transfers which occur on their Debt Help System.

Those who do not follow the guideline are likely to face complaints from fellow Debt Counsellors. When that happens, it will be good to know the NCR’s stance on transfers.
