Consumers heading over to the website of the National Credit Regulator are being met with a rather bland white screen and Error message
The NCR’s website has been hard hit over the last few months by hackers and ransomeware attacks aimed at stealing and selling data.
In the wake of such attacks, it is common for organisations to redesign or upgrade security on their sites. It is unclear if the error screen is a result of more propblems or incoming solutions.

Having your site hacked or hijacked is a stressful thing and in the case of sites with massive amounts of consumer data very problematic. In a world of more and more online scammers and hackers, there is a constant need to try stay ahead of such things by updating your security regularly.
We hope things are being fixed and that the site will soon be up and running. For those looking for a Debt Counsellor in the meantime, you can head over to our online directory or check the back of each issue of Debtfree Magazine to find someone close to you.
Latest Update (Site Back Up But...)
After some time being out of action, the NCR website seems to be back up and running.
A closer look at some of the pages showed some issues however, like this one showing how many Debt Counsellors have been removed from practising by the NCT (inaccurate figure)
Also, as of the time of this update, the part of the NCR site where Debt Counsellors capture consumer data (NCR Debt Help) is not working.
