Opposition to non inclusion at CIF
CIF- some are not invited
It seems that this weekend some Debt Counsellors have been submitting form 29 complaints to the NCR about not being included in the new Credit Industry Forum.
3 Debt Counselor Associations namely: The Alliance of Professional Debt Counsellors, The Black Debt Counsellors Forum and the Debt Counsellors Association of South Africa have been invited to attend and contribute to the new CIF which is slated to replace the former Debt Review Advisory Committee (DRAC).
However it is to be noted that many Debt Counsellors do not belong to these associations or indeed any association. Those complaining ask how their voice will be heard? One Debt Counsellor says this is simply a repeat of the mistakes the NCR made in connection with the formation of DRAC. The NCR did send out a communique late last week about the formation of the new CIF. The notice had a brief paragraph about the forum and announced the starting date (1 Oct).
It is an inauspicious start for what is hoped will be a meeting point for various industry role players.
