Do Your Homework
Although the consumer says she was fortunate in ending up with such a great Debt Counsellor (Annienne Nel from Debt Center), she strongly recommends consumers do their homework before starting the process.
This is a great idea. Consumers can read content online (like Debtfree Magazine), they can listen to Podcasts (like the DebtReviewWithDummies podcast) and can always visit the NCR website for more information (and to check if the person they are talking to is really registered with the NCR).
Debt Review is a commitment to a marathon not a sprint and it is an excellent idea to educate yourself fully about the process before you begin.
