Standard Bank are determined to keep consumer data safe.
Because they send a lot of sensitive info back and forth between themselves and Debt Counsellors they need to make sure that the appropriate PoPI Compliant steps are taken.
Recently they updated Debt Counsellors that they are encrypting all documents and letters sent on their DRX platform as of early this month.
They reminded Debt Counsellors that in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013, all letters sent by the Standard Bank Debt Review department through our DRX platform will be encrypted with a unique password as of the 8th of August 2024.
Some Debt Counsellors already have passwords allocated but others may not yet have so they have said that if a unique password has already been allocated to you, you can just continue to use that password.
If no password has been allocated to you, you will be provided with one by the 6th of August 2024.
All debt counselling practices will shortly be provided with a training guide on how to open encrypted attachments. We hope to share that with you here on the site as well (or in the coming issue of Debtfree)
