Standard Banks 2026 Guide to Their 17.3 Process

Standard Bank are sharing their guide to how they deal with 17.3 requests from consumers.

If a consumer hits an unplanned situation that will reduce or hamper their ability to stick to the court ordered repayment plan, they can ask their Debt Counsellor to speak to the credit providers and ask for some leniency.

While credit providers do not have to accept a changed plan for a month or two, most are willing to consider it. They normally ask for the 17.3 application to be done in advance so that they have time to consider the proposal.

Debt Counsellors do well to consider the outlined steps below when dealing with Standard Bank matters and use the guide to ensure clients have the best chance of being successful in their requests.
