The Final Circular of December 2025
As 2025 came to a close, the National Credit Regulator dropped an important circular about evidence required for credit bureau disputes.
The circular is a guide from the NCR on what they feel is needed to either keep a listing or have a listing (or information on the credit report) removed.
This is helpful when a credit provider wants a listing shown or a consumer wants information removed.
In both cases, it helps clarify what type of evidence is required.
For example, if a consumer applied for debt counselling and a credit provider (or someone else) wants the listing shown, then they need to supply the official Form 17.1 and Form 17.2 document, which says the consumer applied for debt review and was accepted.
The Section About Debt Counselling
One of the things that people have show on their credit reports is information (temporarily) about debt counselling and debt restructuring.
There will be cases where the consumer would like to dispute this information.
What evidence is required to have a listing removed?
You can read the evidence required from the excerpt below, where it shows what is required to retain the “flag” or to remove the “flag”.
