Do You Want To Be A Debt Counsellor cont.

As a new Debt Counsellor, it can be hard to know how to deal with the myriad of new problems and challenges.

Many existing Debt Counsellors will happily offer advice and tips on how they have managed.

One place you can find this support system and friendly assistance is at the various Debt Counselling Associations.

Among the associations, DCASA (the Debt Counsellors Association of South Africa) is the oldest, having been around pretty much since the process began. They hold an annual conference as well as quarterly regional meetings.

Debt Counsellor Associations & Groups:

Alliance of Professional Debt Counsellors (primarily on Facebook)

Independent Debt Counsellors Collective (great for sending matters to CIF)

Debt Counsellors Association of South Africa – DCASA – The OG

The National Debt Counsellors Association – NDCA – like the name says this is for the biggest DC practices in SA

The various associations and groups have websites and Facebook pages that you can join for speedy replies to questions. They also hold regional meetings where you can network with other Debt Counsellors, service providers and credit providers. Some charge a fee and others are free, all are an excellent resource to a new Debt Counsellor.
