Was the Kempton Park Chief Magistrate gambling during office hours?

In June this year Chief Magistrate Judy van Schalkwyk of the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court received notice that she was facing temporary suspension. This was ratified this week (Tuesday). The suspension came in the wake of a lot of attention that has been given to the Kempton Park courts regarding Garnishee Order fraud.

Now claims have been made that suspended Chief Magistrate Judy van Schalkwyk ordered here staff to take her to gambling establishments during office hours.

These claims will now be investigated along with a large number of other allegations against suspended Chief Magistrate Judy van Schalkwyk. Presumably she will get good legal representation and not gamble on her future, though the odds now seem stacked against her.
