Wow CV advice on a winning CV
CV and Job searching Guru Gerard Le Roux gives our readers some tips for making their CV stand out from the crowd

Want your CV to make an impact right – to unlock the door to get noticed, to make you stand out? In a cluttered job-market, it’s pretty important. And you can. Easily.
Here’s a quick couple of ideas to help you.
1) Just get to the point. Scrap the ‘cover page’ and put your personal details at the end.
Why? The reader wants the “meat” fast. They want to know:
* what job titles you’ve had,
* what companies you’ve worked for,
* what qualifications you’ve had.
In other words, “will you be a quick match & fit for the company I’m recruiting for?” These are what I call “Tier #1” details – the details
that will land you the interview.
Reassure them that you have the ‘goods’ immediately, from page 1.
Alternatively:
1) you can add a cover page to cover you up so they can’t immediately see what you’re about;
2) you can focus on “Personal Details” which contain details that no-one ever got hired for;
3) you can hide away your “Tier #1” details on page 3, 6 and 10.
Not!! This is what most job hunters DO! Don’t make these mistakes.
2) Rather at the top of page 1 write a bulleted introduction of what your best qualifiers are for the job. Spell it out. Make it easy for the reader to see you’re a match. Repeat it. Make it loud. Clear.
Hope this helps! The job market is tough. I’m here to help.
