NCR Debt Help System experiencing Glitches

NCR Logo

Debt Counsellors use a web portal called NCR Debt Help (www.ncrdebthelp.co.za) to submit ongoing, up to date, information to the NCR about consumers under debt review. For example: when consumers apply for debt review Debt Counsellors capture their details on the system and the NCR then update the various credit bureaus of the consumer’s status. As consumers make payments or receive their court orders or leave the process Debt Counsellors are meant to update the system. Interestingly the NCR still require Debt Counsellors to send in reports quarterly to check on their figures. It seems they are not confident that the system is either being used properly by Debt Counsellors or that the system is producing accurate statistics.

computer problemsThe system has received constant criticism over the years, from those forced to use it daily, as it is not very user friendly. The NCR recently announced plans to try rectify issues Debt Counsellors have had with the system. In the latest development in regard to NCR Debt Help an announcement has been made, by the NCR, asking for understanding from DCs as they are having problems with transfers (of consumers from one Debt Counsellor to another).

It is hoped that this latest glitch will be sorted out and that it is merely a side effect of efforts to improve the system.
