This is just a reminder to all DCs in the Western Cape about tomorrows DCASA meeting. The meeting will be held tomorrow at Parow Golf Club from 9H30 (for 10H00).

Coffee and tea will be served before the meeting start. Because of a very full programme and the fact that DCASA also have to elect a new committee for our branch, DCASA urge you NOT TO BE LATE.

Members in good standing attend for free. Non-members will be charged R150 at the door for an observation fee which includes lunch.

10:00 – 10:15    Election of new committee for DCASA Western Cape Branch.

10:15 – 11h00   Industry updates with the emphasis on the new Codes of Conduct – presented by Eugene Cilliers and Nathaniel Siljeur.

11:00 -11:30 Presentation by the sponsor

11:30 – 12:30  Presentation by Magistrate Caron Lehman.  Ms Lehman is in charge of the Civil Department at Cape Town Central. She is also the Western Province Cluster B representative on the National Civil Forum and regularly train Magistrates within the Western Cape and Nationally.

We have provided Miss Lehman with many examples of the typical problems we experience in the Western Cape Courts. She will address those examples in her presentation.

13:30 – 14:30 Social Grants. Presentation done by Dr Waldemar Terblanche. Social grants and the importance of this information in our Industry, what Debt Counsellors should know about social grants and how to advise and guide Consumers to use it correctly.

Dr Terblanche was the Director for the Cape Provincial Administration between 1989 and 1993, responsible for the overall management of social work and social security, where after and until 2007 he was Chief Director responsible  to manage Social Security and Developmental Social Welfare Services for the Western Cape Provincial Government. In 2007 he became the Regional Executive Manager (Deputy Director General) for the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in the Western Cape and is responsible for the overall management of SASSA in the Province.
