After the Awards event was officially over, some guests stayed at the venue and relaxed in the warm summer evening. There were snax and refreshments, good conversations and an outdoor auction type event to raise funds for the FoodBank.

The FoodBank is a NPC that provides food parcels to consumers in debt review who have hit a speedbump and had to submit a 17.3 request to their credit providers (Debt Counsellors know what that all means). The FoodBank’s helpful food parcels enable these consumers to still make a small payment towards their debt that month, meaning less danger of any 86(10) terminations.

 Guests snapped up training from the BSI, display space at a regional DCASA event, self-defence lessons, boat trips from a generous Debt Counsellor and other fun items such as Money Saver memberships, item packs and even a very valuable autographed Springbok collector’s item (courtesy of Consumer Friend).

This year’s Nousheen Pore Award winner, Mr Timmy van der Grijp, also generously decided to donate the associated R10 000 for charity in her name to the FoodBank.
