Cape Town based internet radio station the Taxi has a regular feature with the Money Clinic’s Alan Manshon. The show is all about Debt, Dealing with debt and debt review. This week Taxi invited our Editor Zak King to be a guest.
Much of the discussion revolved around a recent non reportable case where MFC convinced the High Court to send a Debt review matter back to he Magistrates court for consideration. (They actually wanted it thrown out and wanted to sell the consumers car probably).
In this case the judges talk about industry norms (in regard to repayment terms) but also talk about how much info should be in a Debt Counsellors original application to court. Keep in mind the original matter was from way back in 2010 when the courts were still not entirely sure of what they wanted to see in court applications for debt restructuring.
