FNB to host Workshop in W Cape (July)
FNB Debt Review Centre Workshop – Western Cape
FNB are hosting a workshop in Cape Town for Debt Counsellors on the Friday before the Debt Review Awards Gala. All Western Cape Debt Counsellors (and those in CT for the Awards) will be able to attend as long as they RSVP. The workshop will probably be held in FNB’s new building in the heart of the Cape Town CBD.FNB say they want to “actively interact” with the DC’s around the following topics:
FICA requirements: What can be done to expedite the debt review process?
Assessments: What are the concerns?
Terminations: What is the process?
Documentation: What is a reasonable time frame in forwarding documents?

Do you have other issues or matters that you would like to FNB to place on the agenda? The desired outcome would be for Debt Counsellors to gain a better understanding of how DC’s processes are seen by the FNB Debt Review Centre and vice versa. FNB say they want to understand the “rationale” behind the requests they receive from Debt Counsellors in regard to the debt review process.
Lynne Liozakos, Head of the FNB Debt Review Centre says:”We want all parties to benefit by reducing the confrontational episodes, thereby opening the way to improved settlement negotiations“…To Debt Counsellors she says:”we will appreciate your views on what you want to discuss“.

There are limited seats and FNB warn that they will work on a first come first served bases.
Christo Hatting, Manager of FNB’s Quick Fix) will attend and says:”We are looking forward to meeting [DCs]“. When asked if the Western Cape was being favoured over other areas Christo assured us that other regions will get visits based off this workshop and progress made there, saying:”We are also planning road shows in other cities”.
