5.5% Inflation In November 2021

Stats SA has revealed that November 2021 was a bad month for South African consumers as inflation figures came in at 5.5% (October was not great either with the inflation figure that month being just slightly lower at 5%).

‘the highest it has been in nearly 5 years’

This is the highest it has been in nearly 5 years as a confluence of bad news hit SA all in one go. From petrol prices, rate hikes, international travel bans and more, November was a hard month for SA and it seems prices shot up at the same time.

Globally food prices have shot up by around 30% across the planet, placing already cash strapped consumers under increasing strain.
