Times are tough and we are all learning to live on less. Each month Debtfree DIGI magazine has a feature called: LIVING ON LESS. Here is a practical tip or two on how you can live on less:

Tip 8

  • Instead of letting the TV babysit, why not take your kids to your local park and let them play in the sun while you read a book and have a picnic.  If you don’t have a park, perhaps there is a local public area that has plenty to keep the whole family busy, coffee shops, jungle gyms and lots of grass. Just getting up and moving around will also help you remain more healthy which will reduce your stress levels and decrease your medical costs

Tip 9

  • Try to do one big shop per month, it will work out cheaper.  Take time to look at the supermarket fliers to see what’s on special.  Also go and print out your PnP Smart shopper vouchers before you start shopping, to earn those extra points.  If you can’t handle one big shop then why not only 1 per week. It is shown that this is more cost effective. Remember to avoid those impulse buys and to take a list with you.
