NCR CEO to speak at Debt Review Awards Gala
Ms Nomsa Motshegare (NCR CEO) will be a guest speaker at the 2014 Debt Review Awards gala this weekend. Debt Counsellors from all associations and forums and from all over the country will be joining credit providers, government officials and Payment Distribution Agencies at the gal which will be held in the Cape Town CBD this Saturday evening at 5pm.

Nomsa Motshegare plays a key role in the implementation of the National Credit Act (NCA). As the CEO of the National Credit Regulator, she is responsible for all responsibilities pertaining to the functions of the NCR in terms of the Act. Her experience in this area speaks for itself. Apart from her formidable academic background, which includes a Bcom degree from Botswana, MBA from the USA, and a Diploma in Advanced Banking from RSA. Nomsa Motshegare also held the positions of Chief Operations Officer at NCR; Manager: Accreditation & Compliance in the Micro Finance Regulatory Council (MFRC) – the NCR’s predecessor. She has also held positions of Branch Manager, for an SMME finance Company in Botswana, and Business Area Manager: SMME Linkages and Clusters, CSIR, South Africa.
She represents the NCR on the Board of the South African Savings Institute (SASI). Motshegare, was until 2011 (for ten years), a director, Vice Chairperson, Chairperson, of the Southern African Media Development Enterprise Fund (SAMDEF), a regional media development fund, which aims through financial and training support, to develop the region’s (SADC’s) SME independent media to become sustainable enterprises.She is also a non-Executive Director of Sentinel (Pty) Ltd and Genesis Steel (Pty) Ltd.
Ms. Motshegare says she relishes her challenging tasks and is determined to play her part in ensuring that South Africa has a well-functioning credit industry which balances the rights of consumers and that of registrants in terms of the Act.
