When you find something online that you would like to buy but it is slightly above the amount you have budgeted for the item then here is a sneaky tip that will often help you get what you want, for the price you can actually afford:

When you find the “perfect” item and are not able to find it elsewhere online for a better deal then why not add it to your shopping cart but do not go ahead with the sale? This is called abandoning the sale.

Then…sit back and wait for the clever retargeting shopping bots to pick up that you were interested in the product but never actually went through with the offer…If you are prepared to wait for a few days you might be surprised to see that the shop actually contacts you or begins advertising that same item to you (via things like google/facebook adverts) for a discounted rate. Their computer software knows you want it and that you almost bought it but didn’t. Often they will be happy to drop the price a little to secure the sale.

If you are able to be patient then you may be pleasantly surprised with a discount or you may find that after a day or two with time to contemplate you may not even need the item after all.
