Not As Excited Anymore?

When anything is new, we are excited about it.

It is a type of honeymoon period, where we focus on all the positives and minimise the negatives.

That passion we have is contagious and anyone we talk to about debt review can hear it in our voices. They are drawn to our excitement, drawn to debt review.

But…over time as the everyday challenges and real-world issues begin to mount, you stop feeling that passion, that excitement. Not because you’re broken or because debt review does not work, but simply because your brain normalizes everything.

The human mind is an amazing thing and it can get used to nearly anything, from losing a limb to losing our vision. It can help us acclimatise to living in the snow or in the desert.

This ability to adapt and normalise anything could however work against us if you do not know what your brain is up to.

You may feel the glow or excitement of your daily activity helping people though debt review begin to decline.

What Can You Do?

The solution isn’t to just “get over it” or “man up” or “push through”.

No. It’s to reconnect to the actual positive impact of what you do, in a way that makes the benefits real to you again.

‘reconnect to the actual positive impact of what you do’

Eg. if you are a DC at a bigger practice (or stuck only on the admin side) take time to join meetings with first-time consumers who come looking for advice.

Eg. Review client testimonials of how debt review has helped them and their families and check out the feel good content of Debt Review with Dummies podcast.

By focusing our minds on the tangible good that debt review does for consumers and their families you can renew your passion for this amazing process.
